Arthur's not sure what he'd think if he knew about the special cookies. But then again, Arthur and his brothers had gotten insanely drunk and walked around singing Christmas in Diagon Alley the one night when Billy was supposed to be "supervising" them. Must be a sibling bonding experience. "I will," Arthur says, kissing Molly's cheek. "Good luck in Herbology, though I know you don't need it." His girlfriend's brilliant, in his opinion.

If Mya's big brother is any kind of example, underage alcohol supply is definitely a sibling bonding thing. *blinks*
Molly just smirks, because she wonders too what Arthur would say if he knew about the Special Cookies. "See you then," she chirps before scooping up her bag and strutting off in the direction of the Greenhouses.

As the older sister, Teresa would supply her younger sister with alcohol. *blinks* Except she has really shitty taste.

"Bye!" Arthur says, watching Molly as she leaves the Great Hall. He turns back to his breakfast, which he begins to really eat now. As soon as Molly has exited the room, Ron stands up and sits down in the seat next to his big brother. "So, what were you and the lady discussing that was causing you to act so giddy?" Ron asks, elbowing Arthur in the side. Arthur simply rolls his eyes and laughs at Ron's antics. "Just being in love. You'll understand someday," Arthur says. Ron just sighs at his insane brother; after Arthur finishes his bacon, the two brothers exit the hall together and go their seperate ways.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Continued from the Shrieking Shack.

Lily smiled, laughing almost with relief that the awkwardness had been broken. Really, mentioning food to a teenage boy was usually a sure bet for that. She strolled back in the direction of the village, then through it towards the castle, not really realising that although her grip had slackened a bit she still hadn't completely let go of James' hand. It seemed like while they were in the Shrieking Shack most of the students had started back for the castle, eager for the feast; there was really nobody around save for the shopkeepers tidying up their displays that had been ravaged all day. Her unsettled feelings subsided, overtaken by a vague sense of peace partially because it was impossible not to feel at ease strolling easily along the path as the setting sun tinged the sky pink and orange and red around them. The air was crisp, the hint of a breeze raising goosebumps on Lily's skin that had her drawing in on herself for warmth. Her steps faltered when James mentioned what she'd forgotten since before they'd left Honeydukes; they were meant to have joined their friends for the day. She pulled a face. "Oh. Right. That was supposed to happen. They weren't in Honeydukes when we managed to get in there..."
Trailing off, she peered up at James' face uncertainly. She opened her mouth, but closed it again with a little shake of her head. No, surely not... For a moment she'd been planning to put James on the spot and accuse him of orchestrating the whole thing because habit told her to expect him to fix a neat little plot to manipulate her into some date-like scenario, and it was a little bit of a surprise for her to find that she didn't really believe that anymore. "Well I'm sure they'd have figured out enough to send a search party if we weren't back by the end of the feast," she allowed.
They walked back to Hogwarts, and just outside the Great Hall Lily stopped suddenly, her eyes alight with wickedness.
"Ooh, put your cloak back on, Potter, I've got an idea. They're going to absolutely wet themselves!" she grinned, drawing her wand and setting to work without further explanation.

A smile never left James's face as they made their way back to the castle, Lily's small hand still grasped in his own. He almost couldn't believe that today had actually happened, that she had spent an entire afternoon with him without argument and without issue. They had bought candy and had a drink at the Three Broomsticks and explored the Shrieking Shack and even pranked people together, and here they were, hand in hand, walking back to the Halloween feast together. It was almost to good to be true.
If James had not already been madly in love with Lily Evans, it would have happened just how when she asked him to put the cloak on and was most certainly plotting to prank their friends. He quickly tugged it from his pocket and tossed it over himself, holding it open for Lily to join him, wondering what exactly she was up to, and indescribably excited to find out.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Still grinning, Lily tapped her boots with her wand. The white pvc, still mostly clean, became considerably dirtier, the bottoms caked with soil. She waved her hand at James as he held the cloak open for her to join him, indicating that he should close it over himself. "No, no, I'm staying out." She fell into silence while she concentrated on her work, making him wait patiently for her explanation. By the time she was done, in addition to the soil on her shoes there was also hints of dried soil and thick red liquid that was a pretty close impression of dried blood if Lily did say so herself, caked around her fingernails. As a final touch, she reached up and mussed her hair a little bit. Her bangs had long since fallen free of her high ponytail and curled gently around her face, Lily spent just a moment giving them a windswept look, taking care to smudge her thumb lightly against her temple and leave the faintest hint of dirt as if she'd been working hard at something and wiped her forehead without realising the mess she was making of herself.
In short, Lily looked like she'd just murdered James and buried the body.
She smirked in James' general direction, presuming the invisible boy hadn't moved. "What d'you think, do I look like I've just buried you in Hagrid's garden? Convincing enough? The best part is that they'll actually believe it could happen, they won't know what to think!" It took her a moment to wipe the gleeful look from her face and replace it with a suitably mad expression of a woman who had just killed someone in a moment of madness, then realised what she'd done and hidden the evidence. "Just, erm, show yourself if it looks like they're calling for Dementors, yeah? You ready?"

James dropped the cloak when she said she was staying out, but continued watching her in fascination and confusion as she made herself all dirty and disheveled. He tilted his head, which he had left sticking out of the cloak for now, absolutely interested in finding out what in the world she was planning. As soon as she started making the red mucky stuff, James smirked a little, his brain finally catching up to hers, at least a little bit. But when she finally explained about burying him in Hagrid's garden, he let out a loud and appreciative uproarous laugh, doubling over a little. "You're brilliant, Lily Evans, you are. Absolutely. Yes! After you, my merry murderess..." He flipped the cloak up over his head and moved out of the way, waiting for her to enter the great hall and he would follow. Sneaking carefully along behind her, he watched as she approached their friends, and watched their faces as they took in her appearance and realized that James was nowhere to be found. He held his breath and bit the inside of his cheek to keep from laughing and giving the game away.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Lily's mad expression twitched and broke, just for a moment while she let a smirk sneak out for James, and then she was back in character. Once she was assured that James was ready she squared her shoulders and shoved the doors of the Great Hall wide open both effectively announcing her presence and ensuring enough time for the invisible boy behind her to pass through the opening. As if she hadn't even noticed her friends and James' all grouped together near the end of Gryffindor table, she threw herself into a space on the bench by them and, biting the insides of her lips to force herself to remain straight-faced, she reached for the nearest jug of pumpkin juice.
The group's startled silence was perfect, and it wasn't until Lily had taken a long, thirsty gulp of pumpkin juice and began to pile her plate high with all the feast's offerings that finally Mary MacDonald spoke. [Yeah, stealing random Marauder Era characters like a boss here >.>]
"Erm, Lils? Isn't James still with you?"
Enjoying this far too much, Lily made a point of looking just a little shifty, deliberately not quite meeting anyone's eyes. "No, he's not." Then she 'noticed' the state of her hands and hastily began wiping them off on her napkin only to give up and hide them under the table when the fake dried blood wouldn't come clean easily. "Mmm, I'm starving. I feel like I've been in one of those fitness competitions - you know, the ones where they make people compete to do difficult things, like drag sacks of dead weight around and dig really deep holes."
The wave of uneasiness was almost palpable as it fluttered through the group, the 'this can't be real, but I can't discount the possibility' looks they shared made Lily wish she had a camera to preserve the moment forever.
"And where- where is James now?" Mary tried again, sounding genuinely nervous.
"Oh, I left him in the bottom of Hagrid's garden. Bet next year's pumpkins are going to be gigantic, they always say blood and bone is the best fertilizer, don't they?" Lily deadpans.
Peter squeaked, and it was only sheer determination that kept Lily from bursting into laughter at the looks on her friends' faces.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Post  James Potter on December 15th 2011, 6:30 pm

hi hi very sorry suddenly I remembered that the semester wasn't over and I still had at least 4 things due by Wednesday night only now it's Thursday so the semester is actually over. >.> Sort of. I still have a few things left to finish to turn into a competition by the 19th so I have to do that before I leave here on Saturday but yeah. UGH THIS SEMESTER WILL NEVER ACTUALLY END.

James watched in great amusement as Lily talked to Mary, nearly falling over laughing when she mentioned the fitness competition. He thought Mary's eyeballs were going to plop right onto the table, falling right out of her head with how large they had gotten. Everyone's eyes were on Lily, and they all looked horrified as if trying to decide if what seemed like had happened, had actually happened. He couldn't blame him for thinking that way. They knew how Lily and James could go at it sometimes, generally ending up with James getting injured by a mallet flying across the room or a book whacking him on the head or some other such thing. Perhaps this once, Lily had hit him too hard. Perhaps she had to cover up the evidence and didn't do it very well. He could almost hear the wheels grinding in their heads, greased with panic and a small amount of repulsion.
James actually did fall over when Lily answered Mary again, followed by Peter's small squeak. The resulting thump was mostly absorbed by all the other noise in the room, and the nearest person he fell to was Lily anyway, so perhaps only she would hear it. James stood up again before someone would trip over him or before the cloak could slip. Pulling out his wand, he pointed it at one of the pumpkins floating in the air, sending it slowly down toward where all their friends were sitting. Hovering it just at eye level, he changed it's smile to a frown, and projected his voice to it. "Lily, why? Lily I only wanted to show you a good time. Lily, why? Whyyy??" The sound trailed off softly, the pumpkin in a rather nice D: face.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

S'ok m'dear! Semesters are neverending torturous piles of poop. And I nearly fell off the bed laughing at your post, so totally worth the wait. <3

Lily jolted a little bit at the unexpected, but soft thunk of what sounded like James hitting the floor. It was clear her friends hadn't heard it; they were all looking at her strangely for the little movement and Lily bit her lip, wondering how she was going to explain that away. A moment later, though, she caught sight of the pumpkin moving and realised that James was up to something. She widened her eyes.
"Did anybody hear that?"
The timing was perfect. The group had just a couple of seconds to look at her as if they truly believed she'd lost her marbles before the floating pumpkin became obvious to them all. When her partner in crime's voice came through the pumpkin, Lily turned bright red and only the steeliest of nerves kept her from erupting into helpless laughter. The commotion had attracted the attention of those nearby, and with the amount of people already looking Lily figured it didn't matter so much about making a bit of a scene so she gave herself over to it. She screamed theatrically at the possessed pumpkin, her hands clutching her face in horror.
"NO! NO! IT CAN'T BE! YOU'RE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE GARDEN! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
Almost everyone had turned to stare at Lily, and all the while the pumpkin held its D: face, the eerie strains of 'why, Lily, whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?' still echoing and ringing in their ears.
Peter and Mary were both looking vaguely terrified, although it seemed like Remus at least had caught onto their game - maybe he'd smelled James nearby, or maybe he was just too logical to get caught up in the theatrics, and although he said nothing to give them away there was a hint of a knowing smirk about his lips as he watched Lily.
"The pumpkins are haunted!" Peter bellowed, on the verge of hysterics, and one of Lily's hands slipped below the table to retrieve her wand discreetly.
Still hiding her wand, she waved it about and all the pumpkins in the hall rose up above the heads of the students. The smiling jack-o-lantern faces all morphed into frowns and then the pumpkins began to spin wildly on the spot.
"Take it away," Lily muttered from behind her hand, hoping that James was near enough to hear her while everyone else was distracted by the show.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Haha, glad you thought so. Wink Here, have some more.

James watched in absolute glee, rating Lily's a performance somewhere near an A+, because it had at least terrified Peter to the point where he would probably need to change his trousers soon, and nearly all the others around her were staring and scooching away inch by inch in horror. Upon hearing Lily's soft whisper, a smirk crossed his face, though of course no one could see it, which was tragic really because his smirks are ever so handsome indeed. "Take it away? Well, alright, if you insist," he whispered very carefully back to her, his face right next to her ear. He lifted his wand beneath the cloak, gave it a little flick, and started to make all the pumpkins sing in chorus. "DOUBLE, DOUBLE, TOIL AND TROUBLE, FIRE BURN AND CAULDRON BUBBLE, DOUBLE DOUBLE, SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES!" And just as they finished the last crescendo of rather fantastic pumpkin singing, each and every one of the jack'o'lanterns burst wherever they floated, sending a shower of orange and golden sparks fluttering about the room, setting up a good deal of commotion. Quickly, while no one was watching, he whipped off the cloak and sat down beside Lily as if he'd been there the whole time. "Not quite what you made in mind when you said take it away? I can't read your mind. It's a scary place in there, you're a homicidal lunatic after all." And then he smirked at her, this time one that she could see and therefore enjoy. "Great show, though. Very moving. I daresay tears over my death would have been the audience's next reaction, agreed?" He chuckled at her, nudging her with his elbow and offering her a smile that could truly only be described as perfectly proud and absolutely admiring.

YAY. Ah I love Evotter so much. XD

Lily nodded almost imperceptibly to show that she'd heard James' voice and was ready for whatever he had planned. The haunted, horrified expression on her face twitched when the pumpkins began to sing, she grinned involuntarily. Luckily for her, nobody was looking at her anymore because the pumpkins had drawn the attention of the entire Great Hall, it seemed, and she had a moment to compose herself. Everyone jumped, there was even a bit of startled shrieking when the pumpkins burst into orange and gold fireworks, and a half a second later James was on the bench beside her, sitting there casually in his Elvis outfit as if he'd been there all along.
She laughed, the sound almost lost in the commotion. "You'd better hope you can't read my mind, Potter, I'm sure it'd shock and appal you. And don't worry; I was fairly certain when I left you that opening, there was going to be some sort of explosion." She glanced up at James, returning his smirk with one of her own. "I'm just surprised it wasn't all that messy," she confessed.
Lily nudged him back, smiling up at him, eyes alight with the exhilaration of their fun. She hadn't expected it to come off so well, but they seemed to read each other and build on what the other had started seamlessly, they'd made a natural team somehow. The moment stretched on between them, Lily smiling at James until the moment was broken broken by Peter, finally turning around and spotting James at the table, letting out a shriek as if he'd seen a ghost. Finally, Lily succumbed, laughing so hard she had to lean against James' shoulder just to stay on the bench. "Oh yeah, Potter," she gasped, "I can see how torn up they were. Sure the tributes would've been gorgeous."

ME TOOOOOOOOOOOOO Very Happy Finally packed and home and unpacked, yay!

James grinned over at her, his shoulder shaking slightly with laughter. "Well I'm glad you've learned to expect me to arrange for explosions when given free reign of events in public situations. I considered exploding the pumpkins, but I didn't want to have to smell like pumpkins for the next few days. Bath day isn't until Wendnesday, you know." He gave her a very serious look, though the corner of his mouth curled up slightly. He took a moment to look around, casually observing the chaos going on before they would notice he was here. Finally Peter saw him, and the others spotted him as well. Laughing, he leaned over to Lily. "We're pretty good together, aren't we?" He waved at Peter, winked at Mary, and grinned widely at everyone else around them. "Hey there. Pass the jelly beans, won't you, Wormtail?" Peter seemed unable to move.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Post  Lily Evans on December 18th 2011, 12:12 pm

Oooh yay! Ugh, just 5 more days of work, then Christmas, and then a week of blissful freedom. I can't wait!

Lily raised her eyebrows as if impressed by James. "You have a bath day? Well, I'm stunned. I always thought McGonagall just herded you round behind the broom shed after quidditch and had Filch hose you off," she told James, her own mouth curving in the corner similarly to his. She nodded when he mentioned to her how good they were together, and then Lily felt a slight flush crawling up her neck; that had sounded more suggestive than she'd initially read it and she'd agreed a little too easily for her liking. She wasn't completely reconciled to this yet, to the Potter who was still a cocky git, but no longer a completely arrogant berk. A year ago she'd pretty much written him off as a lost cause, but inch by inch he'd clawed his way towards redemption in her eyes, strange as it was. She didn't even think he'd really especially done anything, but he was different and she saw him differently and Merlin help her, they were undoubtedly friends now. She liked him. How did that happen? Lily brushed her bangs out of her face and did not look at James, instead grinning around at their friends, most of whom had begun to laugh. Peter was still staring at James, open-mouthed, as if he had truly been terrified for his friend's welfare -and who could blame him, really?- and wasn't wholly convinced it was all a joke.
Shaking her head, Lily pulled out her wand. "Look, Peter, it's just a charm, I promise. There's no bodies buried in Hagrid's garden. Well, not that I know of," she added with a little smirk, and removed the fake dirt and blood from her hands.
When Peter nodded, but still didn't move, she stood up and leaned over the table to retrieve the jelly beans herself, nicking a couple of the green ones before handing the bowl to James and taking a seat once more. Looking around at the group, she chewed her lip. "Guess we were running later than I thought - it looks like you're all done already."

"Don't get too excited, it isn't nearly as often as you might think, I assure you." He laughed, though had to admit he could definitely picture McGonagall ordering Filch to hose him and the rest of the team off after practices to ensure they actually did wash at least a little after the hours and hours of Quidditch. James nodded to Peter, lifting his arms and flexing them about in the air. "Fit as ever, Pete. Promise it's all a good joke. Though I can't blame you for not believing Evans could make jokes. Crazy, isn't it?!" He laughed loudly and grinned at her, taking the bowl of jelly beans as she passed it to him. Everyone else returned to their seats, conversations, and desserts within a few moments, and all had returned relatively to normal. Well, all except for poor Peter, whose hands were still shaking. "I'm not dying any time soon, Peter, I promise. Here, have some pumpkin pie and cheer yourself up!" James grinned, handing him a massive slice and topping it off with a mountain of whipped cream for him. That seemed to do the trick as he dove in and the color returned to his face. James continued munching on the jelly beans, though he'd been gathering up the green ones he encountered and handed them wordlessly to Lily once he had a little handful collected. "Guess we spent longer down in the Shack than we thought. It was fun though. At least I had fun... I hope you did too?" he asked her a bit more quietly, the conversation obviously just meant for the two of them and not their entire table at the moment.

"Oh please," Lily said with a prim little eyeroll, "I think it's fairly obvious I'd have to have a sense of humour just to keep from killing you lot for real." She snagged another couple of jelly beans from James, watching as he served Peter a huge slice of pumpkin pie. It wasn't lost on her, how effortlessly James had managed to cheer his mate up with such a simple and insignificant little gesture. She blinked, surprised by the thought as he held the green jelly beans out to her, and then she smiled as she accepted them. Around them, their friends and housemates had reverted their attention to either their conversations or, in Peter's case, their food, leaving Lily to continue talking with James. She didn't mind, she'd turned her head and leaned in a touch to listen to him properly amongst the din of the hall, completely missing the telltale something-is-going-on-here-and-we're-going-to-ambush-you-about-this-later looks from her friends in the process. She smirked at James. "What, the lack of punching you and calling you a git didn't give it away? Yes," she added a moment later, smiling more sincerely, "I did have fun. Uhm, thanks, by the way - I can't remember if I said that or not, but yeah.... Thanks."

"Sense of humor, sure, but no one ever figured you could pull off a joke of your own. No offense, of course. You've just proven us all wrong, and I'm glad of that." He laughed warmly, picking up the pitcher of pumpkin juice to fill up the glass in front of him. He gestured toward Lily with it, offering her some, and pouring her a glass without really waiting for an answer. "And yes, if you must know, the lack of physical abuse and name calling did throw me off a little." He passed her the second glass of pumpkin juice. "But I'm glad you had a good time. Thanks for coming along with me." Grinning at her, he picked up his glass and held it up to her. "Another toast to the best Halloween yet?" Tapping his glass against hers, he took a long drink, draining half of it before he sat it back down again, and perfectly timed as well, as it was that very moment that Padfoot decided to tackle James from the bench, and the two best friends were wrestling on the ground, growled threats of 'if you were really dead I'd bring you back and kill you myself' and 'as if anything could kill me we're invincible remember oh bestest of best friends' and several mentions of the shack and Evans and late and what were you doing really and I'll never explain myself and growls and groans from impacts of elbows and knees and headbutting. Finally they had pinned each other so well no one could move unless they both let go, and they silently agreed to a truce and both returned to the bench as if nothing had happened at all. Padfoot carefully fixed his hair of course, but James left his however it was, forgetting that the gel he'd put in it would have it looking quite a sight by now after all that.

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

Post  Lily Evans on December 22nd 2011, 2:02 pm

Lily simply rolled her eyes at James, a defiant set to her mouth that said something along the lines of 'showed you, then' because she did take particular pride in proving people's preconceptions about her wrong. She couldn't help but laugh just a bit when he mentioned the lack of abuse throwing him off, and as she took the offered drink she promised, "Well, I'll be sure to belt you one later, alright? Cheers."
She tapped her glass against his in return and began to lift it to her lips, but before she could drink to the toast something barrelled past her, knocking her elbow and causing a fair amount of the juice to slop over her hand and down her arm. "What the-? Black!" she snapped, nose wrinkled at the not at all pleasant sensation of being splattered with pumpkin juice. But she might as well not have bothered speaking, for all the notice that was taken for her. Sirius had blown right by her, launching himself at James, and the two boys wrestled in that stupid way that boys did. The others were laughing, all too used to the occurrence do bother with any other reaction, and Lily set about cleaning herself up a bit. In amongst all the grunting and other nonsensical noise, she thought she heard a couple of words clearly, just enough to make her flush at the picture the disjointed snatches of conversation painted about the afternoon. She ducked her head down, sipping on her pumpkin juice and hoping the cool drink would take a little of the heat from her face, and by the time she looked up again James and Sirius had returned to their seats looking as if nothing had happened.
Well, almost looking like nothing had happened.
Lily looked at James, hair askew and looking twice as wild as normal thanks to the hair gel, and promptly forgot her embarrassment as she burst into laughter. "It's almost back to normal," she told him in between giggles. Her hand moved as if to fix it as she'd done in the Three Broomsticks, but about half way towards his head she hesitated. "Oh, forget it," she decided, and reached up with renewed purpose. Actually none too gently, her fingers tousled the hair on the top of James' head, the strands sticking up even more wildly still and making Lily laugh again. "You know, I bet you could even get it into a mohawk with enough gel, you know, like a punk. Oh, maybe next year you dress up as Sid Vicious or something!"

Re: Gryffindor Table [FREE ROLE PLAY AREA]

James grinned over at her as she looked at his hair, and leaned forward a little as she reached to fix it for him. But to his surprise, she was far from gentle and didn't seem to be fixing it at all. "Hey hey!!" James protested, his head being pushed side to side by Lily's hands moving all through his hair. Once she let him alone, hae pinned her with a curious look. "Sid Vicious? What's that? Sounds like some kind of animal or something."
The feast went on without much else in the way of big happenings or amusing events, nothing out of the ordinary for their group of friends anyway. James didn't bother to try not to let his knee brush against Lily's or to bump elbows or shoulders. He stayed right where he was, right next to her until the feast was over and the whole group of them got up to head back to the common room. "My lady?" James said with a grin, standing and extending his hand toward Lily so they could go back to the common room together after a most excellent Halloween.

[YAY iPad! XD Are you in love with it yet?]

Lily chuckled. "Yeah, that's an easy mistake to make. And there's a lot of people who would say Sid Vicious is an animal. Nevermind, James, I'll have to introduce you to Muggle music sometime. It's way better than the junk you lot get on the Wizarding Wireless, anyway," she told him. Which is true; the 70s is just one gigantic musical orgasm or something IDK.
The evening wore on, Lily not minding the way she and James occasionally bumped and grazed against each other because what else could they do with the group all crammed in together on the benches? Finally, when they were all ready to go, Lily took a few moments to negotiate the art of stepping over the long benches without flashing her knickers and by the time she turned to leave, James was holding his hand out to her. "The gentleman impersonation again? I like it," she said, smiling her thanks as she took his hand and fell into step beside him for the companionable walk back to Gryffindor tower.
