Sirius is throwing shit at first years with school brooms practicing to be the next great [insert house here] keeper or seeker or whatever. It's hilarious. Those who are too cool to do, crush the dreams of others.

Penny was itching to stretch her flying skills after a few long weeks being back at Hogwarts so she decided to grab her broom and head to the pitch for awhile. She sighed in irritation as she noticed the first years practicing. It looked like they were taking up quite a bit of the pitch and she grimaced. She had really wanted to fly, and there was no way she would be doing that here with kids who looked like they would pee their trousers if they got higher than three feet off the ground. Then she noticed that someone was throwing things at them, and lo and behold it was that idiot Gryffindor, Sirius Black. She simply rolled her eyes.

Sirius saw Penny come onto the field and catcalled while throwing some pretzels to get her attention. "Hey! Come to practice with with people of your own skill set?" Okay so he's bored and wants to stir up some trouble. Sirius will be Sirius a dumbass.

Penny was slightly startled when Sirius started throwing things at her. She scoffed and narrowed her eyes, "yeah right Black, you know I could out fly you any day. What're you doing out here with them anyway, they hold you back for your awful flying skills finally?"

Sirius stuffed like seven pretzels in his mouth. "What does it look like I'm doing? Throwing shit at first years, duh! I thought a Slytherin of all people would understand." He returned to tossing things in the path of one poor first year with a school broom that listed to the right. Sirius had him pretty well going in circles, and it was hilarious.

Penny simply rolled her eyes in disgust as Sirius pigged out on more food. "You're disgusting you know that?" She hated to admit to herself though, that his shennaningans with the first years were rather entertaining, but she would never say that out loud.

Penny let out a short scream when a turkey leg came flying at her and she ducked instinctively. "You arse! What the bloody hell are you playing at?" She was fuming, "you're such a pathetic excuse for a Gryffindor. Aren't you supposed to be the chivalrous ones? Come to think of it, you probably don't even know what that word means."

"I dont' know what that means," he shouted back, "but I'm not going to look it up because I don't think it applies to anything I am in any way remotely connected to." Of course he knows what chivalry is. Pureblood family. Gryffindor. You learn these things. Though maybe not in his family, come to think of it. "All I'm saying is you could be eating food instead of wearing it if you came and sat up here for a bit."

Penny gave him a 'like hell' look, "Right. Or you could just decide not to be such a right git and stop throwing food at pretty girls. But again, that comes down to the whole 'chivalry' thing. Something you know nothing about. You really should look into that Black. Might make people despise you just a bit less."

Sirius gave her a "bitch please" look. "People love me!" He tossed some candy down her way. "At least it's good food! You should be catching this stuff. You could make a full meal!" He smirked and dug into his pretzels again. And to think he'd managed to get all this stuff out of the kitchens all by himself. Impressive, you have to admit.

"Food you've had your grimy hands on? I think I'll pass." She made a face like she was throwing up. "Did you nick all this stuff from the kitchens? I should report you for that you know..." a smug grin settled onto her face. Anything to get an almighty Gryffindor into trouble

"It was a gift from my friends in the kitchen," Sirius grinned. "And my hands are perfectly clean! Just washed them, in fact!" He held up his hands, now covered in food and sugar and stuff. "See? Clean as a whistle."

Penny grimaced. "If that's your idea of clean Black, I'd hate to see your idea of dirty." She shifted her weight so she was now leaning on her broom "So why're you just sitting here watching people fly, did the Gryffindor team finally decide there was better talent out there than you?"

Sirius scoffed. "Pfft, I'm too cool for quidditch. I just like to crush the dreams of little first years who think they're the next big thing. Also I can't find James. That seems to be a recurring theme." He stuffed a big soft pretzel in his mouth, dripping cheese liberally.

Penny smirked "Maybe he finally wised up about who his friends are and decided you weren't worth his time." She cocked an eyebrow at him. "After all, I have to admit, even he has better manners than you, and that's saying something."

"About just how good my manners are? You're forgetting I'm from a pureblood family. My manners are flawless." Have you noticed Sirius is really douchy today? Weird. Totally don't mean for him to be this douchy, but it's kind of fun. He skipped over the whole James dig because OUCH MAN. OUCH.

Penny scoffed again "Yes, a pureblood family who, from what I've heard, wasn't all too happy with you once you became a Gryffindor. Mummy doesn't love you as much does she? You'd have been better off in Slytherin, though I don't think we'd want you either."

"Better than being in with all the Slytherin bitches," Sirius shot back, sort of lamely. Okay, so maybe he's not so douchey today. "You know I heard for snacks and meals sometimes they just throw out dead rats for you lot." GET IT? Because they're snakes AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Penny shook her head "Ohh like I've never heard that before. Look the little Gryff thinks he's funny, making fun of the great serpent of Slytherin." She rolled her eyes. "You sure know how the way to a lady's heart don't you Black?"

"Oh, so it's working? You know, this method of flirting is a bit of an experimental throwback to the kindergarten days of throwing rocks at girls." He chucked some fruit at her. "Actually, I was just trying to piss you off. Is it working?"

She let out a scream of frustration, "Black!" she yelled as one of the pieces of fruit hit her. "Ugh you are so vile! I don't know why I waste my time talking to you." She threw a piece of fruit on the ground "You'll regret this soon Black."

Sirius giggled like Mozart from Amadeus if you've ever seen it, and like a blithering idiot if you haven't. "Can't wait!" he grinned and took a huge bite out of an apple. "See you then?"

Penny glared at him and turned around, infuriated, and let out a scream of frustration. She grabbed her broom, thoughts of flying out of her head now that Black had made her so angry and the first years were still on the pitch. She'd just have to fly another day, and hope that Black wouldn't be there.

Re: The Quidditch Pitch

Laurel was walking dow to the pitch, ready to start practicing for the team. As she got closer, she noticed a familiar face. She squinted her eyes.
"Hey! Vee!" Laurel called, waving.

"Laurel! Ve cried. "Hi! I just got out of History of Magic." She gestured to her over-stuffed bag. "It was duller than ditch water, and we got an 18 inch essay to write. Not fun." Even Vee had almost fallen asleep at Binns' droning voice. "Practicing for Quidditch I see? Looks fun!" She said, resuming a voice that didn't express utter boredom.

"Tell me about it. When isn't History of Magic dull? I use that class to catch up on homework!. Anyway, yeah, I love Quidditch, but I've never had enough courage to try out. Do you play Quidditch?" Laurel asked.

"I was actually contemplating sneaking out. I mean, it isn't as if he would notice!" Vee giggled. "I do play. I'm seeker for the Ravenclaw team. It's quite fun! You should try out, definitely. I'll practice with you if you want, I'd just have to go get my broom and get changed." She shifted inside her school robes, which were getting hot from the late-afternoon sun.

"I think i'm going to try out for keeper. I'm not sure if I've got the right build though." Laurel giggled, gesturing to her stick-straight body. "Do you want to run up to the castle to grab your Quidditch robes? I'l come with you if you want." She offered.

"Oh, you'll make a great keeper. You want to be speedy and light, with good reflexes." Vee smiled. "Um, sure! I'll just run up and get them, I think they're just in my trunk somewhere." She dashed up the stone steps to the great hall, dashed through corridors until she reached Ravenclaw tower, breathlessly panting the answer to the question the knocker asked. Luckily she got it right, and ran up to her dorm, grabbed her robes out of her trunk and changed quickly. She got her broom from under her bed, and ran back to the grounds. It took her about 15 minutes, which was probably a record, and probably also would have earned her a detention if she ran into Filch. Or anyone really.
