Black Swan

Post  Lily Luna Potter on December 22nd 2010, 11:32 am

This movie is filmed beautifully, but I didn't expect less from the director of Requiem for a Dream (one of my favorite movies, I'll have you know). Natalie Portman is absolutely stunning in this film and I have to agree with what I heard prior to watching because it's definitely her best.

This movie is NOT for those who cannot handle trippy or gross things because there are some. It is a thriller movie, after all.

Through all the crazy, it's amazing. Stunning. It's easily the top movie of this year. The film and Natalie Portman deserve Oscars.

Please go watch it. Do it. Now.

I kind of want to see it despite the fact that I'm usually not interested in anything remotely scary. I'm mostly interested in the ballet aspect. I don't think it's in theatres around here though. :/

I want to see it too. I don't usually go for scary movies either but this one looks interesting. I've always wished I took ballet, but I'm so gosh darn clumsy... That'd end poorly haha. Anyway, despite the fact I don't usually watch scary stuff, I've heard this is really awesome and Natalie Portman did great.

I tried ballet when I was younger because I was absolutely in love with all forms of dance, but I was never as good as my mom was sooooo~
I love watching ballet though and I love scary movies, so I had to see this movie as soon as possible. The filming in this movie was fantastic and all the actors and actresses in the movie were amazing.

The ballet is in the majority of the film, but if you don't do scary, it's not going to suit you well...they don't show some of the worst scenes in the trailer.
If you do see it and you're squeamish, here's a hint: close your eyes when she notices a hang nail at the party. That's all.

OMG OMG OMG I SAW IT.

All I could say was "WOW".
I didn't even know...it was just...wow. Haha. All the fingernail parts just really grossed me out. Especially that part at the party.
The ending was ridiculous. Really.
Natalie Portman was amazing. <3

I'm about two thirds of the way through it.... Holy shit
I'm in love with it.
I've heard half bad and half good things. Mindboggling.

I took ballet when I was younger intensively and I was really really good but then I broke my leg and after that I was basically too old or way older than the other girls and I never really got back into it.

I just watched it too!
OhmyGod, it was amazing!
Freaking everything - the sound was amazing, the cinematography (Elise I LOVED Requiem too!), the acting. Natalie was perfect, and Mila was just amazing too.

My friend just texted me saying she woke up in the middle of the night itching and scratching herself so badly she bled. She referred to it as 'pulling a Black Swan'.
I will now be making sure that it does not appear as though I am trying to steal her boyfriend, or be better at ceramics/graphic design than her. >.>

When I was little it was so bad my mother had to clip my fingernails every two days and I had to sleep with long sleeves, long pants and gloves taped on no matter what the time of year. Mmmhmmm. Thus is my life.

Remind me to also never steal your man or show you up at anything you're passionate about...
I fear I should start a list of all the people's love interests I should be sure to leave alone.

Uhg this movie.
At first I thought it was going to be one of those 'alright' movies......But I was blown away!

The imagery was really intense. (well, the movie in all was really intense)
The movie was really "in your face" about things. I loved the movie.
at the end of the movie I was sad, but then I kind of just sat there and ran over the whole "perfect" thing.

Did you know the main character's actor had to do on a ballerina diet?
She collapsed a lot due to it
